On April 24, the "Conference on Global Innovations" was held at our Tokyo Campus, welcoming over 60 participants.

This event was organized in conjunction with the visit of the delegation from the City of Bochum and Ruhr University Bochum. Aimed at providing insights into innovative healthcare ecosystems in Germany and Japan, the conference was held through the collaboration of multiple key institutions involved in academic and industrial exchange between Japan and Germany. These included our university, Ruhr University Bochum, the City of Bochum, the German Centre for Research and Innovation Tokyo (DWIH Tokyo), and NRW.Global Business, the economic development agency of North Rhine-Westphalia.

From our university, the program featured a keynote speech by Prof. Dr. Yoshiyuki Sankai, Executive Research Director at the Center for Cybernics Research, and a lecture by Prof. Dr. Hiroyuki Nishiyama, Project Leader of the Tsukuba Digital-Bio International Center. In addition, Prof. Dr. Hidenori Takahashi and Associate Professor Aiki Marushima from the Institute of Medicine, as well as Associate Professor Daichi Sugawara from the Institute of Human Sciences, participated in the poster session, while Prof. Dr. Nanako Tamiya from the Institute of Medicine took part in a panel discussion. These contributions showcased our university's cutting-edge initiatives in the field of smart health.

In Bochum, the Health Campus serves as one of Europe's leading centers in the field of medical technology, hosting numerous healthcare-related startups. As a driving force in the smart health sector within North Rhine-Westphalia, Bochum is expected to continue building collaborative relationships with our university in this field in the future.
